Did you know that the Bible has a lot to say about your health? Have you ever thought that God is interested in your health more than you are? Look what He says in 3 John 1:2 – Beloved, I wish above all things that you may prosper and be in health, even as your soul prospers.
He loves you so much and wants you to prove Him by exhibiting good health. He has given us all the steps for your journey throughout Scripture and through the writings of other health educators that can help you make better choices for healthier outcomes. There are many old sayings that are apropos to our health, one of which is, “You are what you eat”, and another, “You keep doin’ what you’re doin’, you’ll keep gettin’ what you got”. That goes for your physical health, your mental health and your spiritual health. Think about that for a moment and just let it sink in.
Here are some more helpful quotes that I think you will find life changing.
Gen 1:29 – And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat.
As one very knowledgeable health educator wrote back in the late 1800’s regarding information on “The Health Message”:
“Grains, fruits, nuts, and vegetables constitute the diet chosen for us by our Creator. These foods prepared in as simple and natural a manner as possible, are the most healthful and nourishing. They impart a strength, a power of endurance, and a vigor of intellect, that are not afforded by a more complex and stimulating diet.” Ministry of Healing 296, 471
“Let them impart this knowledge as they would Bible instruction. Let them preserve the health and increase the strength by avoiding the large amount of cooking which has filled the world with chronic invalids. We are coming to the time when recipes for cooking will not be needed, for God’s people will learn that the food God gave Adam in his sinless state is the best for keeping the body in a sinless state.” (Manuscript Release 21, page 286)
“Teach the people to preserve the health and increase the strength by avoiding the large amount of cooking that has filled the world with chronic invalids. By precept and example make it plain that the food which God gave Adam in his sinless state is the best for man’s use as he seeks to regain that sinless state.” (Testimonies vol. 7, pg 135)
